Search for Missing Kayaker Deemed a Hoax

It was reported that there was a missing kayaker last seen in the vicinity of Soper’s Hole, Tortola. Spirit launched and searched the area. Spirit was assisted by the USVI National Parks and by a US Coast Guard helicopter. Spirit returned to base and went out for a second search with the helicopter continuing its search as well. All involved were asked by the Royal BVI Police to stand down as during their inquiries it was revealed to them the report was a hoax. Spirit returned to base at 1737.
