Jesuit School from Dallas, Texas Visits VISAR
Thursday, 21st July 2011
On Saturday, July 9, the Jesuit College Prep from Dallas, TX volunteered their morning to help out with Virgin Gorga VISAR.
The all-boys high school class was in the BVI attending a marine biology program with Dive BVI for the week and as part of their program, they decided to help out in the community.
During thier time volunteering they completed a lot including painting the VISAR shed, cleaning VISAR's RHIB, Gorda Peak, and completely cleaning out the boat house including washing down all gear, helmets, and life jackets.
The boys finished their morning with a brief CPR/First Aid presentation. Fun times were had not only by the boys but also by the Crew as well.
Community involvement with VISAR is always welcome and appreciated.
Throughout the year there are painting, cleaning, dredging, rock raking, and fundraising projects. If you or your group would like to volunteer with VISAR please email Katie at visar@surfbvi.com.
Thank you to all of the young men who visited the Virgin Gorda Base, helped out, and learned a bit about VISAR. We hope to see you again next year!
