Tuesday, January 12, 2010Asthma attack at Peter Island

Time of Call: 1755, Time of Launch: 1800

A 27 year old female suffering from an asthma attack was called into base. The attack was possibly caused by the mosquito spraying in the vicinity. The casualty had no inhaler with her so Spirit launched. Coordinator told the resorts ferry to set off for Road Town and spirit would rendez vous in Sir Francis Drake channel. The ferry made good time and the casualty was on stable O2, so two responders were transferred onto the ferry to observe and Spirit stayed alongside. An ambulance was arranged to meet the two boats at the dock and the casualty was transported to hospital.
