Time of Call: 1056, Time of Launch: 1105
A ships agent called in to report an incident involving a young crew member of a private yacht at Norman Island. At the same time a VISAR Helm received a call from a local Dive company, they said they could hear VHF traffic reporting a near drowning/drowning in the same location. Spirit was launched at 1105. The 25 year old male had been free diving below the vessel and apparently blacked out. The vessel was actually at Great Harbour, Peter Island and not Norman. Location confirmed Spirit came alongside at 1115. CPR was already being performed by the Yacht crew, VISAR crew started to assist. CPR was continued throughout the entire assesment. The casualty was then back boarded and transfered to Spirit. AT base he was transferred to an awaiting ambulance and VISAR crew continued CPR to Peebles. Spirit crew stood down at 1130.
