Time of Call: Sighting at 1932 & 1934, Time of Launch: 1948

A flare sighting was reported to Virgin Gorda Helm at 1732. Over the VHF a boat was heard calling VISAR. The call from St. Thomas Bay, VG, also reported a sighting of a flare. As this was the second sighting, the coordinator was called and permission to launch and search was given. Sightings were in the direction of the Dog Islands. Contact was made with a trimaran on the west side of the Dogs, they had not seen anything. Gorda Peak searched the area and coast line while returning to base. USCG were informed but no persons or vessel were reported or found. Gorda Peak stood down at 2130.
